The SRCS Media Center is available to teachers and students throughout the school day for doing research, checking out books, and taking Accelerated Reader tests. Additionally, students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend weekly 30-minute classes in the media center conducted by the librarian. Media center resources include:

The Accelerated Reader is a computerized reading management system. Students in grades 2-8 can choose a book from hundreds of outstanding titles on the A.R. book list. Students take a short, objective test on the computer. Both the student and teacher receive reports on the progress, and students receive book bucks to spend in the A.R. Store.
The book fair is held during the week before Thanksgiving ending with Grandparents' Day. A wide selection of books and materials is available through Scholastic. The media center receives 25% of the Profits.
Parents may select books for the media center to honor their child's birthday. Books receive a special name plate and are presented to the child.
Students enjoy helping with check-out when they are Librarian for 1/2 day (an auction item).
